FLORENCE DUSSUYER: SELECTED WORKS

July 15 - August 26, 2023

Born in 1978, Dussuyer first studied applied arts and then fine arts in Lyon. In 2001, she continued her studies at the art academy in Hô-chi-Minh, Vietnam. For the past ten years or so, her work has been regularly exhibited in Annecy, Lille, Lyon, Strasbourg, but also in Antwerp and Luxembourg.

While gentleness and sensitivity are the first sensations emanating from her paintings - through immersion in the intimacy of these women immersed in deep dreams - the artist's freedom of expression, with its dazzling colours, the abundance of decor in which these young women find themselves (fabrics, floral motifs, liquids, landscapes, animals...) and her large formats, underline her temperament and dynamism.

In the words of Patricia Houg: "Her work recalls the Impressionism of Claude Monet, the Nabi movement of Edouard Vuillard, the sensuality of Gustav Klimt, but also the eroticism of Egon Schiele. Even if these prestigious references come to mind when we look at Florence Dussuyer's works, it is undeniable that she has a personal, carnal, sensual and inimitable pictorial universe."
